Watercolor Mixed-Media Landscapes
Slow down and explore balance, texture, and the quiet beauty of coastal stones in this restorative mixed-media workshop.
Inspired by the weathered colors and patterns of Maine’s shoreline, artist Ericka O’Rourke , of Salt and Sky, will guide you in creating a collection of painted paper stones using watercolor, watercolor pencil, ink, and a restrained touch of metallic watercolor. You’ll then arrange and layer your stones into peaceful cairn compositions on subtly textured backgrounds.
No drawing or painting experience is needed. Simple stone templates, step-by-step demonstrations, and thoughtfully selected color palettes make the process approachable while leaving plenty of room for personal expression.
Participants will complete two small mixed-media cairn artworks, with time for an optional third study. All materials are provided.
