Slate and Moss is a teaching kitchen overlooking the Damariscotta River in Midcoast Maine. Our workshops highlight cancer-fighting ingredients and embrace food as medicine.

The kitchen building is located on our family-run farm where we organically grow ingredients that are used in the workshops.

Slate and Moss was founded by Kari Tyson who has completed courses from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the Academy of Culinary Nutrition. She also has a certificate of completion for Fundamentals of Fermentation (ACN).
