Botanical Traces with Ericka O'Rourke

$100.00

Sunday November 8th, 2026

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

An Exploration of Botanical Printing & Mixed Media

Let nature make the first mark—and see where your creativity takes you.

In this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll use gathered leaves, flowers, ferns, seed heads, and grasses to explore botanical shapes and imprints through gel plate printing and mixed media. These impressions become starting points for playful compositions, inviting you to get lost in color, line, and texture.

With guidance from artist Ericka O’Rourke of Salt and Sky, you’ll build layers with flowing watercolor washes, gouache, pencil marks, and additional printed impressions. Follow a shape, soften an edge, add an unexpected color, or let a fresh layer change the direction entirely.

The focus is on exploration rather than precise botanical illustration. There’s no prescribed result—just room to experiment, embrace imperfect marks, and discover what emerges when you let go of expectations.

Come with curiosity, and leave with a collection of botanical-inspired pieces that are uniquely yours.

  • No drawing, painting, or printing experience necessary

  • All materials and a selection of botanicals included

  • Create a small collection of layered works on paper, suitable for framing or making into notecards
